25 November 2007

Today, the Librarians of Second Life held their monthly staff meeting on the sim of Infotainment Island.  Rather than have various people provide update reports on their projects, we brainstormed ideas for activities in the upcoming year.  Some ideas included hosting educator conferences, a poetry festival, author events, guided tours, special classes about SL, and [...]

Last night, I attended an Art Exhibition created by avatar Daruma Picnic. Daruma’s art is unique because he creates it using SL building/scriping tools. The art is interactive so that the viewer can change colors in many of the pieces of artwork. Outside, he rezzed his Sound Sculpture which creates sounds as [...]

Librarians “Friday the 13th” Party

18 April 2007

Last Friday, I attended a party on Cybrary City organized by SL librarians with a “Friday the 13th” focus.  Most people came regular clothes, but I thought it would be fun to come as Morticia.  I also added green hair and glowing green contacts to complete the picture.  Why do librarians have virtual parties?  In [...]
