Today, there was a Grand Opening of the China Cafe in Second Life.  The Cafe is a place for Chinese persons to receive instruction in English and to practice conversational English with native speakers.  The Cafe also includes a classroom, a library, meeting space, and a Tai Chi meditation rooftop area.   Next door is the new Japanese Garden which will contain educational information about Japan in a relaxing environment.  The China Cafe and Japanese Garden are managed by Elaine Tulip, of Chicago Public Schools Dept of Libraries, and GSM, the Chinese educator in Shanghai.  Use of the land was graciously donated by the Alliance Library System.

See the China Cafe blog at http://chinacafe.cuipblogs.org for more information.
