What’s Elaine Been Up to Lately?

18 September 2007

I’ve been up to a little of this and that lately.  On Friday, I attended the bi-weekly SL Librarians party at the TX950 venue.  The theme was “Back to School”, so I came as a cheerleader.  While fun, I also made a few more contacts.  I befriended another Illinois librarian who joined our Illinois Interlopers group.

Another project in development is on the sim “Info International”.  I am working with a partner teacher in Shanghai, Puglet Dancer from ALS, and builder, Gospel Voom, to build a China ESL Cafe and the adjoining Japan Peace Garden.  At the Cafe, many Chinese people will come into SL to practice conversational English with native speakers from around the world.  See my Chinese friend, GSM, sporting some snazzy wings!

All work and no fun is just not fun!  In preparation for tonight’s ISTE event, I have met several times with presenter Greylin Fairweather.  After a practice on Sunday, she was kind to invite me to her house to hang out for a few.  Here I am windsurfing in her lagoon.  Am I wearing a suit and heels?  Well, yes, but anything goes in SL!
